Fill a medium to large saucepan with water. Turn heat to high.

Allow the water to come to a rolling boil.
Using a wire strainer, carefully lower the eggs into the boiling water.
Reduce heat to low boil. Boil the eggs for 13 minutes.
Carefully remove the boiled eggs to an ice bath. Allow the boiled eggs to cool for 5 minutes.
Tap the large end of each egg to break the shell, then carefully remove under a steam of cool water.
The boiled eggs are now ready to be used in salads or sandwiches.
