Marinara Sauce
A simple sauce of aromatic ingredients blended with tomatoes.
Equipment
- 1 cutting board
- 1 kitchen knife
- 1 medium sauce pan
- 1 wire whisk
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 clove garlic
- 1 medium sweet onion
- ½ cup dry white wine
- 30 ounce crushed tomatoes
- 15 ounce tomato sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 cup fresh flat-leaf parsley , torn
- ½ cup fresh basil leaves , torn
Instructions
- Add a tablespoon of olive oil into a hot pan over medium-high heat and throw in the garlic and chopped onions and give them a stir.
- Now add the wine, whisking to deglaze the bottom of the skillet. Cook until the liquid reduces by half.
- Add tomatoes and stir to combine. Add salt and pepper to taste and a pinch of sugar. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Add parsley and basil, stirring to combine. Cook for a few minutes more.
