Bake nachos in a bowl?
The Vault restaurant in Sedona, Arizona serves an appetizer named ‘Trash Can Nachos‘. Tortilla chips, shredded beef, cheddar jack and queso, black beans, jalapeños, cilantro, pico de Gallo, red onions, sour cream and avocado are mixed together into a large can. The can is heated in the oven so that all of the cheese melts everything together. They dump it out onto a plate table-side to serve. The result is a gooey, fun, and delicious way to serve nachos!
Baking the nachos in a bowl can give you a similar effect. The cheese melts and drips down between the layers of nacho goodness. You could always make nachos compuestos on a baking sheet lined with foil, but that’s not nearly as fun now is it?
