Roasted Garlic
Oven roasted head of garlic, useful in many recipes.
Equipment
- baking sheet, or small cast-iron saucepan
- foil
- cutting board
- serrated steak knife
Ingredients
- 1 head garlic
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400℉
- Keeping the garlic head intact, carefully slice off the top ½ inch. You will need a very sharp knife, or serrated like a steak knife.
- Drizzle olive oil over the top of the garlic head so that it gets into each clove.
- Wrap in foil, put onto a baking sheet, and bake for 40 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
- Squeeze the garlic out of each clove, then mince.
- Yields about 1 rounded tbsp of roasted garlic.
