Herbed Butter

Herbed Butter

Herbed Butter, or Compound Butter is tasty and so easy to make. It adds a touch of class and savory flavor to fried eggs, scrambled eggs, omelets or bread. Use it in place of plain butter to take smoked turkey or skillet ribeye to a whole new level of mouth watering deliciousness.

Bread and butter is good. Bread and herbed butter is even better!

Easy and Delicious

Herbed Butter is an easy way to add savory flavor and aroma to many meals that call for butter. Butter extracts the fat-soluble aromatics in fresh herbs such as oregano, thyme, and parsley, imparting their flavors to the food you are preparing.

I like to keep some in my refrigerator because I use it so frequently.

Other Uses

If I have some handy, I will always use it when preparing eggs. It adds a special touch that is pleasing to the eyes, and palate. Use it when making an American Omelet, Scrambled Eggs, or Fried Eggs. You won’t be disappointed.

Other herbs work well too. If I am making Herbed Butter for Skillet Ribeye Steak, I will often add fresh rosemary to the mix. When I make Italian Bread, I might add fresh basil. For garlic bread, I might add minced fresh garlic. It’s also tasty to add lemon zest to the compound butter. Freshness of ingredients is key – dried herbs won’t work nearly as well.
