If you intend to keep the spice blend for later use, do not add the freshly minced garlic until you are ready to use it. It will keep up to 6 months this way. If you do mix in the fresh garlic, it will keep in the refrigerator for about a week.

More Information

DaLynn and I are often asked to bring bread and dip to family gatherings or to dinner parties. She’ll make her yummy, crusty Italian Bread, and I’ll make the dip. I’ll add the Tuscan Spice Blend with minced garlic, and balsamic vinegar to a dish of olive oil at the table-side, just before serving. We’ll slice the bread into wedges for guests to dip into the flavored oil. It makes for a great appetizer that can be easily shared. There is something comforting and intimate about sharing bread that brings people together, and gets the conversations flowing.
